US dollar steady at 8.12 pesos, ‘blue’ at 11.55 pesos

The US dollar was steady today at 8.12 pesos in banks and exchange offices after rising one cent yesterday, amid dollar sales from grain exporters which pushed the US currency down and forced the Central Bank to buy dollars.

The Central Bank reserves rose by 8 million dollars to 28.6 billion dollars.

«We are having a rythm of ongoing slight rises leaving behind the idea of a devaluation like the one we had in January,» an analyst told ambito.com.

Meanwhile, the so called «blue» dollar was trading unchanged following Wednesday’s 5-cent climb to 11.55 pesos.

The blue-chip swap exchange rate was at 10.56 pesos.
