In his daily press briefing, Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich rebuked UIA industrial chamber head Héctor Méndez who has repeatedly called for “economic adjusment”, criticising the government’s fiscal policies. “Industrial leadership has an obsolete mindset, from the past, it should be looking to the future,” Capitanich stressed.
Asked about Méndez’s criticisim, the Kirchnerite official praised the government’s economic policy and urged industrial leaders to avoid “the contradictions of preexistent discussions” and he referred specifically to the country vs. industry; domestic vs. export market; and heavy vs. light industry century-old debates.
“Industrial leadership has an obsolete mindset, from the past, it should be looking to the future,” Capitanich said. The Cabinet Chief highlighted the importance of the emergence of new leaders “who represent the new generation of industrial leadership”.
