Minister Kicillof praises Paris Club deal, criticizes ‘malicious media’

Economy Minister Axel Kicillof today affirmed the agreement Argentina reached with the Paris Club group of creditors “does not compromise the future or the present of the country.”

«We are filled with pride, gratefulness and hope because Argentina has got the ability to stand before the world to observe its commitments, without compromising its future or its present,” the minister told reporters this morning.

He further explained it was a hard negotiation “because it’s always easier to subordinate to international financial interests” and slammed some media reports which accused the government of leaving the Paris Club deal consequences to the next government.

«Malicious media lies to the people,» he fired.
