Economy minister Axel Kicillof and head of the Federal Public Incomes Administration (AFIP), Ricardo Echegaray, have announced the unveiling of a new series of payment plans for taxpayers with debts outstanding up to March 31.
Those who sign up to the scheme will be able to cancel tax burdens in plans of up to 24 installments, with a monthly interest rate of 1.9 percent.
Kicillof explained in today’s press conference that the deadline for inscription was August 29, and that the measure was taken in response to requests from business representatives such as the Union of Argentine Industrialists (UIA).
For the minister, the initiative allowed for «a partnership between the state and enterprises so that they can regularise their situation,» while highlighting the need for «flexibility on the state’s side for companies to be able to meet their obligations.»
AFIP chief Echegaray, meanwhile, signalled that the measure «is in line with the planning carried out in the first meeting held in August with the leader of the Argentine Medium Business Confederation (CAME) Osvaldo Cornide and UIA president Héctor Méndez.»
«The number of taxpayers who will be able to access the miniplans will be around 700,000 and there are around 1.23 million who have a higher debt, and on March 31 owe employers or customs contributions to the AFIP,» he elaborated.
