Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich has referred to yesterday’s US Supreme Court one-hour oral argument concerning hedge fund NML Capital Ltd’s efforts to seek payment from Argentina. “We value the support of the US government to Argentina’s stance,” he said.
In his daily brief to the press at the Government House, Capitanich said that “the hearing was held with no surprises” and pointed out that everything went as the Cristina Fernández de Kirchner administration expected.
“We expect the Court’s ruling before the end of July,” he added.
Capitanich also referred to the Foro de Convergencia Empresarial (Business Leaders Forum) that this week signed a document suggesting policies for “the development of the country.”
“The best contribution they can make is not to raise the prices of their goods and services,» he said and added that the government has not received any document or formal request for a meeting from the Forum.
In his message, Capitanich highlighted as well Aerolíneas Argentinas performance during Easter holidays, with 387 flights in the past long weekend: “99% of the flights took off in time,” he said.
