CFK signs bill fighting unregistered employment

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has confirmed that she has signed a project which will fight against so-called ‘in black’ employment, where individuals work outside of the Argentine tax and benefit system and often with few rights and protections.

The head of state announced the new project from Government House, where she asserted that «precarity in the workplace creates a type of disciplining because any wage is accepted.

«We tackled the first issue [unemployment] creating more than six million jobs, the second problem is precarity,» Cristina explained, during the inauguration of the Original People’s Hall in the presidential headquarters.

The president subsequently signed a bill promoting registered employment while clamping down on electoral fraud. The project will later be discussed by the national Congress, who will determine if the measures included will be signed into law.
