Capitanich: ‘Subsidies will be maintained as long as there is saving’

Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich today referred to the government-fueled Price Watch programme which was extended yesterday saying it “allows to guarantee the continuity” of the initiative.
In his daily press conference, Capitanich affirmed the programme is “giving very eloquent results which are being praised socially.”
He highlighted the agreements reached between the national government and several provinces, particularly Chaco, “to maintain utility tariffs and finance structural works which guarantee the access to energy” across the country.
“When the new utility price scheme was announced authorities emphasized that subsidies, especially on gas, would be maintained as long there is saving. Thus, the impact from a percentage point of view, will depend on the rational use of the resource,” the head of ministers warned.
