Scioli: ‘With students at school we’ll keep on discussing education quality’

More than 3 million students today returned to schools after a 17-day-strike by Buenos Aires province teachers’ unions which ended with a wage agreement last Friday.
When opening the school year at an institution in La Plata capital city, Governor Daniel Scioli said before students and teachers “the challenge now is to have a good school year.”
«Today is a special day. We have the big challenge of having a good school year,” he said and announced that the General Director of Education and Culture Nora De Lucía “will be discussing with unions over the lost days” next week. «We must look forward,” he added.
On Friday teachers’ unions and the Buenos Aires province administration sealed an agreement which will raise initial salaries from 3,600 pesos to 5,000 pesos. This morning, Scioli highlighted the raise adding “with students at school we will keep on discussing educational quality.”
