In a briefer-than-expected press conference, the cabinet chief ratified the overhaul of Argentina’s Penal Code is still a draft bill “under evaluation” and that it will be President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner who will decide whether to “submit” it to Congress.
At the government house, Jorge Capitanich belittled the criticism by the opposition that has strongly questioned the reform, vowing to reject its parliamentary debate.
“The reform has been elaborated by a commission of specialists, from a plural perspective, with its members being recognized both nationally and internationally,” the head of ministers affirmed this morning.
