CFK to meet Pope Francis on March 17

News has been confirmed by Secretary to the Presidency Oscar Parrilli in an official statement released today. March 17 will mark the second time President Kirchner meets Pope Francis. Last year, the head of state arrived in Rome to attend the Inauguration Mass of the pontiff.

According to the official information, the pope will receive Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in a private audience at the Santa Marta residence in the Vatican.
The announcement comes ahead of an international tour the head of state will start on Monday next week when she will fly to Chile where president elect Michelle Bachelet will be taking office, succeeding Sebastián Piñera.
Furthermore, on March 19 Ms. Kirchner will be arriving in France following an invitation by French leader Francois Hollande. CFK is expected to inaugurate the 2014 Salon du Livre in Paris, one of the most important book fairs in Europe, that has Argentina as guest of honour this year.
