The Kirchnerite administration has “dialogue” expectations over Friday’s wage talks with teachers’ unions but Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich warned the government could make a “unilateral proposal” if there is no agreement.
In his daily brief to the press, Capitanich said the collective bargaining process that starts tomorrow with unionized teachers aims at “setting initial salaries” leading then to negotiations in each provincial jurisdiction.
“If there is an accord, an agreement will be subscribed. If there is no accord, there could be a proposal of unilateral character made by the state,” the head of ministers told reporters at the Casa Rosada presidential palace.
The Cristina Fernández de Kirchner administration yesterday confirmed wage talks with education unions for Friday 21 amid threats by Buenos Aires province teachers that classes will not start if their salary demands are not met.
