Following a sharp fall in the informal market, the US dollar opened steady today at Buenos Aires City banks and exchange offices at 7.82 pesos. Greenbacks have registered a 17-cent-and-a-half drop over the past five days after the devaluation that took the American currency to hit 8 pesos.
Meanwhile, the so called “blue” dollar that trades in the parallel market was 15 cents lower at 11.50 pesos after dropping yesterday 50 cents fueled by a lower demand for the greenbaks since the government decided to ease the purchase of foreign currencies back on January 24.
