The official dollar rate rose three cents on the first business day of the week. It was trading at 8.06 pesos per dollar in banks and exchange offices in Buenos Aires City, after remaining roughly unchanged last week when the government relaxed foreign exchange controls.
The US currency rose 23 percent or 1.5 pesos in January.
Meanwhile, in the black market, the dollar was 10 cents lower at 12.55 pesos.
