Edificio Libertador, Army HQ.
The Federal Government informed that a raid on Army Headquarters in the city of Buenos Aires investigating possible unauthorised intelligence operations revealed no evidence of wrongdoing, while the politician who brought forward the charges vowed to continue his campaign.
Radical Party Senator Gerardo Morales, who filed the complaint over “clandestine intelligence activities” in that building anticipated that he will present an impeachment of “violation of classified summery” charges against the Ministry of Defense.
A press statement released from that entity sustained that “The inspection tasks carried out in the facilities showed totally negative results”, while adding that “this kind of actions put in danger fundamental aspects of our national security.”
They also accused Morales of having “an irresponsible behaviour as he systematically presents unfounded accusations that lead to nothing.”
Morales reacted by saying that the results of the break in “do not surprise me because members of the intelligence community don’t save their data in computers.”
Last Monday Federal Judge Julián Ercolini ordered a break in at the Edificio Libertador HQ of the Army Chief of Staff, followed a compliant filed by Morales, who announced earlier that Army Chief César Milani conducted clandestine intelligence operations against him and journalists from that place.
