Edgardo Bauza, the new coach of San Lorenzo.
Edgardo Bauza today met with San Lorenzo’s president Matías Lammens and closed the deal which confirms the Rosario native as the new Ciclón head coach.
Bauza will therefore take over from Juan Antonio Pizzi, who left the Bajo Flores club for Spanish side Valencia following San Lorenzo’s triumph in the 2013 Inicial championship.
“I spoke with Matías Lammens and its done. We are going to meet on January 3, for the beginning of pre-season training,” stated Bauza to a radio program.
In addition, he assured that “I know the supporters are hopeful and it motivates me a lot”.
Regarding the arrival of reinforcements, Bauza considered that “Nicolas Blandi has all the talent but suffers from a lack of continuity, while Hernán Barcos is discarded.”
The new leader of ‘El Cuervo’, started working in the minor divisions of Rosario Central and coached the professional team in 1998. Later, between 2001-2002 he managed Vélez Sarsfield and won the Copa Libertadores with Liga de Quito from Ecuador in 2008.
