Diaz to decide River future at end of year

riverRiver Plate coach Ramón Díaz has admitted that he is considering his future at the Buenos Aires club, after a disastrous Inicial campaign has cast doubt on the Millionaire idol’s future at the Monumental.

With 17 games played of the current season, River languish 17th in the Primera Division table, with just 17 points.

Sunday’s 1-0 reverse against Racing was the eighth time the club had been defeated in the league, and despite agreeing a two-year contract extension just weeks previously the coach confessed that he may not stay.

«We are going to talk about it a lot with my technical team. The plan is to make the best decision for the club. We do not want to hurt anybody,» Díaz announced today, putting in doubt his continuity beyond 2013.

«At the end of the year, I will decide if I am going to stay on.»
