Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino has affirmed that he is unworried by the lack of goals scored by Lionel Messi in recent outings, as he prepares for a Catalan derby against city rivals Espanyol tomorrow.
The last time that Argentina captain Messi netted in La Liga was during September 28’s 2-0 victory over Almería, although he has missed several games due to injury since that date.
«Messi has gotten us used to an average of three goals every game,» Martino admitted when asked about the fellow Rosario native and his recent dry spell in front of goal.
The former Newell’s Old Boys coach concluded by stating that Messi’s «football repertoire has no end,» which is why he is not worried by recent goal-less games.
