Train crash: lawyer requests raid at La Fraternidad union

accidenteLawyer Gregorio Dalbón, the legal representative of the victims of the Once train crash, today requested to the judge the “immediate search warrant” at La Fraternidad engine drivers’ union due to the “existence of elements which may allow to prove if the accused could have planned the accident jointly with union authorities.”

Last Saturday in the early hours of the morning, a train crashed at Once terminal station in the city of Buenos Aires leaving dozens of commuters injured.

In his writ to the Judie, Dalbón also requested to summon railway union leaders Rubén «Pollo» Sobrero and Omar Maturana as witnesses.

Julio Benítez, the driver of the Sarmiento train that crashed, last night told Federal Judge Ariel Lijo he was “unable to reconstruct” the moments before the accident, and remained in custody.
