After a steady open today’s morning, the US dollar jumped to 5.82 (buying price) and 5.87 (selling price) at Buenos Aires city banks and exchange offices. Greenbacks accumulate a 2 percent hike over the last few days as devaluation reached 18.9 percent.
Meanwhile, the American currency hit 9.85 pesos (buying price) and 9.90 pesos (selling price) in the informal market. It jumped 16 cents last week as government crackdown on so called city “exchange caves” eased up.
Buenos Aires stocks closed up 3.59 percent, with the Merval index reaching a new record high of 5692.59 points before ending on 5662.26.
