CNV securities regulator chief Alejandro Vanoli today assured ‘there is no turning back’ from the capital markets reform law, adding the government won’t give in to pressures.
During his exposition at the “Capital Markets” forum organized by Ámbito Summits, at Argenta Tower Hotel, Vanoli spent some time to explain the implementation of article 20 of the law, which gives CNV the power to intervene in the boards of directors of companies where the rights of minority shareholders are jeopardized.
“Our goal is to attract more companies to the capital markets,” he said, trying to dissipate fears about an alleged arbitrary use of the attributions established in article 20.
Vanoli went on to stress the government “will not put on hold the reform, we won’t give in to pressures” although he urged “those with a proposal” to present it.
