Speaking to lawmakers in the Senate, Economy Deputy Minister Axel Kicillof revealed he and the Central Bank chief Mercedes Marcó del Pont, convinced President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to extend the tax amnesty deadline, which was finally prolonged for three more months.
It was a “reasonable” decision, Kicillof stressed about the extension, adding the measure by which people are able to legalize undeclared cash, was “tremendously correct.”
«The president consulted me and Mercedes Marcó del Pont and we coincided that extending the whitewash programme was reasonable and convenient,” he said.
He added “an important oil company will announce today, one day after the extension, it will buy BAADE bonds.” He was referring to Bridas, owned by Bulgheroni brothers.
