Buenos Aires province cabinet chief Alberto Pérez questioned mayors who decided to close ranks behind Renewal Front leader Sergio Massa ahead of October’s legislative battle. “Ungrateful,” Pérez said as he considered they “benefited” both from the national and the provincial governments.
“If the country would have cut jobs or the province of Buenos Aires would have limited districts’ funds, townships would not be the way they are now. They are ingrates or ungrateful,” Pérez told reporters as he affirmed provincial leaders challenging Kirchnerism in the upcoming elections benefited from the policies carried out by the administrations of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and Governor Daniel Scioli.
“It seems much more consistent that those who have been part of the opposition all their life such as the Progressive Front, the Radical Party or even Francisco De Narváez to hold a critical position,” the official added.
“The Governor (Scioli) works 17 hours a day, he goes across all the province and is informed of all issues,” Pérez affirmed now responding to Sergio Massa’s recent statements considering the interests of Argentina’s most populated province -and key electoral district- are not being “firmly” defended.
“You can not suit everybody everytime, optimism, faith and slogans are not enough,” ex cabinet chief during the first administration of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner Sergio Massa had said.
