Granados to head Provincial Security Council

GranadosRecently appointed Buenos Aires province Security Minister Alejandro Granados will be heading this afternoon the Provincial Security Council. The creation of municipal police will be among the main axis of the debate.

Ex mayor of the Ezeiza locality Granados is expected to announce his anti-crime agenda for the Buenos Aires province. Legislative representatives, judicial officials and penitentiary authorities will be attending the meeting.

Opposition groups said they will also be present this afternoon at the Security Ministry headquarters in La Plata City but questioned the move for “electioneering.”

The establishment of police forces in all provincial districts –a project that the legislature has already started to discuss- is likely to take the lead during the political gathering that takes place a month ahead of October’s legislative elections.
