Gov’t announces compensation for Cordoba’s fire victims

BossioThe Government announced a number of measures designed to aid those affected by fires in Córdoba, including credits and a rise in family social plans and pensions for a three-month period, during a press conference in Buenos Aires.

Trough the executive order 369/13, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner formalised the economic help for Cordoba, after a fire that extinguished around 25.000 hectares in the south and southeast area of the province.

“We want the Government, following the President’s order, to bring help in time”, stated Anses pensions fund head Diego Bossio.

The minimum pension base will be doubles for two months, reaching 4.954 pesos, while the Universal Child subsidy and Pregnancy benefits will both increase from 460 pesos to 920 monthly. Child benefits for employees will also be doubled in the affected zones.

The “Procrear” plan, which provides easy access credit lines will be available automatically for the families that were damaged as result of the fire.
