Macri, Larreta deny ‘destabilizing’ attempts

macriBuenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri and Cabinet Chief Horacio Rodriguez Larreta today came on stage to reject President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s statements who earlier implied Macri was connected to attempts to overthrow the government.

«They are continually reporting destabilizing attempts,” Macri told a radio show when asked about the president’s tweets this morning.

Buenos Aires City Cabinet Chief Horacio Rodríguez Larreta also responded to versions alluding to an opposition alliance attempting to overthrow the government: “There was no alliance, the Red Circle is the people that form opinion,” Larreta told reporters.

Buenos Aires City Major Mauricio Macri recently stated that the members of a so called “Red Circle” had pushed him to set a deal with Renewal Front head Sergio Massa in order to «stop» the Kirchnerism 10-year rule.

“There is no conspiracy at all,” the PRO party official affirmed.

However, both opposition and ruling Victory Front sectors have raised their voices against Macri saying his statements proved the existence of anti-government groups that fuel destabilizing maneuvers.

Indeed, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner herself –who is in St. Petersburg to attend the G20 Summit-, today connected the mayor of Argentina’s capital city with attempts to take her out of power in her official Twitter account.
