Through a pre-injunction measure, a judicial measure has put the brakes on the government’s resolution to evict LAN from their hangar in Jorge Newbery Metropolitan Airport.
With just a few days before the order was planned to come into effect, Judge Claudia Rodríguez prohibited that, alluding that the Kirchnerite administration did not gave LAN enough time to present its position on the matter.
In addition, she requested the government to hand a report of the situation within five days.
A 2010 video of state-owned Aerolíneas Argentinas CEO Mariano Recalde emerged in which he could be seen telling a group of government supporters about how he had asked President Crisitna Fernández de Kirchner to take domestic destinations away from LAN.
The injunction allows the Chilean airline to maintain normal operations in the airport, including the hangar activities.
Meanwhile, Deputy Economy Minister Axel Kicillof is expected on Thursday to meet LAN vice president Enrique Cueto, in an attempt to soothe the conflict generated by last week’s eviction notice.
