Timerman slams ‘anti-Argentine campaign’ by vulture funds

TimermanArgentina Foreigjn Minister Héctor Timerman has strongly criticised a supposed «anti-Argentina campaign» carried out by members of the vulture funds in the US Congress, as he met with legislators from the country in a summit.

The Foreign Ministry informed in Tuesday’s statement that «the parties have agreed to keep working together in order to avoid special interests dictating the links between both nations,» referring to the financial groups which pursue payment of bonds purchased during the deby default of 2001.

During the meeting, which also included Argentine ambassador to the United State Cecilia Nahón, Timerman pointed to the existence of a concerted campaign against Argentina by the vulture funds through lobbying Congress.

The participants also discussed bilateral cooperation in areas such as science and technology, resolving to work towards increasing trade between the two nations.
