Recently appointed Defence Minister Agustín Rossi ratified the Armed Forces’ shuffle, considering that the turnover of the military heads was an “indispensable” move.
“The renovation of the military leadership was an indispensable matter and such turnover follows the possibility to be promoted within the military career,” Rossi explained and thanked the now former leaders of the Armed Forces.
“It is the first time in ten years that we make a shuffle of such characteristics,” the ex head of the Kirchnerite caucus at the Lower House told reporters from a local radio station, considering the official change follows a decision by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and shows the new outline of Argentina’s Defence Ministry with Rossi now in charge.
