The City and Province of Buenos Aires woke up shrouded in a heavy, dense early morning fog prompting authorities to issue road alerts. Other affected areas were the provinces of Santa Fe, Entre Ríos and Córdoba.
Weather conditions have also caused difficulties in local airports. Several flights at the Ministro Pistarini International Airport located in Ezeiza, in Buenos Aires province, have been delayed and diverted while the Jorge Newbery airport in Argentina’s capital city has been left disrupted.
According to official information, fog is expected to continue till noon with a thick white blanket covering Buenos Aires and surrounding areas. Ports in the city and the provincial districts of La Plata, Zárate, Campana and Escobar have been shut, expected to be re-opened only once the fog clears.
