The black market dollar closed today at a selling rate of 8.57 pesos while the official dollar rate closed one cent higher at exchange offices and banks in Buenos Aires City at 5.31 pesos.
A foreign exchange broker told reporters that «if the black market dollar is not controlled, its rate will be pushed higher due to the ongoing demand.» He added «people have been waiting how much the blue dollar would fall these weeks, and when they noticed it had found its floor at 8.50, they began to buy dollars again.»
