The anti-government faction of the CTA umbrella union and ATE state workers’ union finished their national strike with more than 100 roadblocks across the country. After blocking the major accesses to the City of Buenos Aires, protesters gathered at Plaza de Mayo Square.
The leader of the CTA, Pablo Micheli spoke at Plaza de Mayo with a list of demands that included income tax reform, universal family allowance, 82 percent pensions’ hike, salary rise up to AR$ 5,000, repeal of the anti-terrorist law. Additionally, Micheli spoke against precautionary measures in the justice reform.
CGT’s Hugo Moyano didn’t participate in the rally, though he had expressed his support earlier. Micheli commented his absence, saying «there is a union of action, but without action there is no union.»
