President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced that political groups will be part of a nationwide campaign labeled “Observe to protect”, looking to “oversee prices” and look after people’s savings.
After announcing a series of measures in the Universal Child Allowance programme, the Head of State addressed business leaders and said she hoped “this new effort made by the Government and society will not lead to an immediate price hike.”
“It’s almost as if prices are raised by Domestic Trade Secretary Guillermo Moreno or Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, but you are the ones who set the prices,” she said.
“Since you are the most important industry advertising on mass media, the press always ends ups talking about government and prices instead of you, since you’re the ones giving them money for the ads,” she said in a message on national television.
