Four out five courtrooms rescinded sanctions that had been imposed by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, for violating the Fair Trade Act.
The rooms I, II, III and IV of the National Chamber of Appeals at the Federal Administrative Dispute rescinded the fines imposed by the Internal Trade Secretary for various private consultancies that spread unofficial inflation numbers.
Sanctions were addressed at those companies who distributed «inaccurate information» about the price index to consumers and thus violated the terms of Law 22,802, Fair Trade.
Essentially, the courts considered that the alleged conduct was not an offense under section 9 of the mentioned law. As a result, fines were revoked for the following consultancies: True, Eco Go, Latin Eco, Finsoport, Efimak and Gabriel Rubinstein and associates. Additionally. the fine against former INDEC director Graciela Bevacqua was suspended. She had been displaced from the bureau after Minister Moreno’s intervention.
