Massachusetts State Police evacuated the Boston’s Logan Airport where a suspicious package was being investigated.
Officials say it was delivered to Air-Canada cargo a little after 11 am. The building was evacuated a precaution, and the bomb squad was on the scene, analyzing the package.
Boston Logan Airport said via Twitter that the package was x-rayed and it was determined there is no threat. The package was then screened by MPA fire/rescue for hazardous material.
Boston Logan Airport said via Facebook that workers have returned to the building to get all holiday packages to their destinations.
A suspicious package was found at LaGuardia Airport in New York City prompting a terminal to be evacuated.
A spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Steve Coleman, revealed in an email that the central terminal building (Terminal D) at LaGuardia Airport in New York City was evacuated after a suspicious package was found.
Port Authority Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit and the New York City Police Department’s bomb squad are now on the scene.
The FAA issued a ground stop, prohibiting all planes from flying, until at least noon, according to Bloomberg News.
