‘Francis already signaling ideas to modernize Catholic Church,’ Lorenzetti

Supreme Court Justice Ricardo Lorenzetti assured that Pope Francis has already signaled of his idea to modernize the Catholic Church.

As he awaits the inauguration ceremony of Pope Francis at the Vatican on Tuesday morning, Lorenzetti said “we need to convey the importance of this. This goes beyond our local matters, our small quarrels. The global impact of this is huge.”

“He has already given us signals, as if he’s trying to modernize the Church. We need to respect his behaviour. So far it’s very promising, not just for religion, but also because of its global effect,” he said one day before attending to inaugural mass.

“The Pope is a greatly influential figure in what he says and does to the Argentine people, beyond your Catholic beliefs. It makes us proud and that is why it deserves the presence of the three branches of power to stand beside him.”

“He has given messages about humility, inner austerity, that they must stand with the people and that poverty is a stigma that must be eradicated,” he explained.
