Néstor Kirchner’s mother dies at 92

María Ostoic.
Former President Néstor Kirchner’s mother and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s mother-in-law, María Ostoic, died on Sunday at 92 years old in a Buenos Aires clinic.
After her son’s death in 2012, Ostoic was looked after by her daughter, Social Development Minister Alicia Kirchner, in her Recoleta apartment.
Due to her age, the woman had left the town of Río Gallegos some time ago, despite spending there a large part of her life and forming her family there.
She had been hospitalized at the Bazterrica clinic in Palermo since November after suffering from dehydration.
According to sources, her health took a turn for the worse on Sunday afternoon and passed away in there.
Her wake will take place on Monday in Santa Cruz and she will be buried at the Kirchner family crypt along with her son and husband.
The President will fly to Río Gallegos to attend the funeral service along with Alicia Kirchner, family members and close friends.
Ostoic lived in Chile until 1945, when she met Carlos Kirchner, whom she married and had three children: Alicia, Néstor and María Cristina.
