Buenos Aires province governor Daniel Scioli.
After President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s statements on Sunday, the secretary of Public Communications of the Buenos Aires province, Juan Courel, reported that Governor Daniel Scioli has over $200,000 dollars in a Banco Provincia savings account.
Courel made the announcement after a newspaper demanded the information and the President referred to it in a letter she posted on her Facebook and Twitter accounts.
“After several inquiries this weekend, as of this morning, Daniel Scioli has a total of $201,175.52 dollars in a Banco Provincia savings account,” Courel assured.
The controversy arose after Fernández de Kirchner penned an open letter to popular actor Ricardo Darín, who had said in an interview that he wanted someone to explain how the Kirchners managed to amass their wealth.
In the missive she posted on Facebook, she criticized the Buenos Aires province governor for not disclosing the amount of his savings in dollars.
