Lorenzetti rules out plans to run for president

President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Ricardo Lorenzetti confirmed in an official communiqué today that he has no plans to put himself forward as a candidate for president, assuring that he will continue to work as a judge.

“In the ministers’ agreement reached on Tuesday, December 11th, I have expressed that I will continue in my position as judge, and rule out that I have any plans to put myself forward for any political roles,” reads the communiqué published by the Centre for Judicial Information.

Yesterday, pro-government lawmaker Carlos Kunkel said that if Lorenzetti had plans to apply for presidential candidacy, he should resign from his post at the Supreme Court first.
