2013 to have 18 national holidays

The Upper House of Congress today approved a bill stating that February 18th, 2013 will be a holiday to commemorate the bicentennary of the Battle of Salta. Thus, next year will have a total of 18 holidays.

Tuesday January 1st: New Year’s day

Monday February 11th: Carnival

Tuesday February 12th: Carnival

Sunday March 24th: Memory Day (37th anniversary of last military coup d’etat)

Friday March 29th: Good Friday

Monday April 1st: Touristic Holiday

Tuesday April 2nd: Malvinas war veteran’s day

Wednesday May 1st: International Worker’s Day

Saturday May 25th: May Revolution

Thursday June 20th: National Flag day- Anniversary of Manuel Belgano’s death

Friday June 21st: Touristic Holiday

Tuesday July 9th: Independence day

Monday August 19th: Anniversary of General José de San Martín’s death (Originally August 17th)

Monday October 14th: Columbus day (originally October 12th)

Monday November 25th: National Sovereignty Day (Originally November 10th)

Sunday December 8th: Immaculate conception

Wednesday December 25th: Christmas
