Santa Fe public security secretary resigns

Following the detention of Santa Fe province police chief Hugo Tognoli in connection with a drug trafficking probe, the provincial’s public security secretary Marcos Enrique Escajadillo Grosso tendered his resignation to Security Minister Raúl Lamberto.

As public security secretary, Escajadillo Grosso was in charge of “creating policies aiming to preserve the freedom, life, assets and rights of the population within the framework of the democratic system.”

Among lther duties, he had to “set the doctrine, organization, training, development and equipment of the police and security forces,” according to the Santa Fe province government’s official website.
