Senators debate teen suffrage bill

Senators are to debate today the polemic teen suffrage bill.
The Upper House of Congress was debating today the polemic teen suffrage bill, which if passed, will allow teenagers between the ages of 16 and 18 the opportunity to vote in the national election.
The session began just after midday and is predicted to extend until tonight.
Since it was sent to Congress, the bill has caused wide controversy and division between lawmakers and politicians.
In today’s debate the Victory Front caucus is expected to gather 38 votes, as well as those of ally seats including members of the Progressive Front and Federal Peronist blocs.
As well as the teen suffrage debate, senators will also designate María Perceval the new Argentine Ambassador to the UN.
