‘Argentina’s transformation has yet to be completed,’ Kicillof

Deputy Economy Minister Axel Kicillof is the key speaker in the 2013 Budget bill debate taking place in a special committe session in the Senate today led by Senator Aníbal Fernández. The bill was recently approved by lawmakers in the Lower House of Congress.
The session started this morning in the Arturo Illia salon at the Legislative Palace where lawmakers are analysing key points that were recently approved in the Lower House of Congress.
During the first part of the meeting, Kicillof assured that the government is to continue adjusting the model of “fine tuning” in the economy in order to “deepen the model.”
The deputy economy minister explained that this was to be in place in order to achieve “re-industrialization,” due to the fact that “the country’s transformation has yet to be completed.”
Kicillof’s counterparts from the Treasury Juan Carlos Pezoa and from the Finance sector Adrián Cosentino were also present at the meeting.
Pro-government bodies in the Upper House were said to hope to convert the bill into law by the last week of October or in the first week of November.
