General Rodríguez triple murder: public prosecutor confident on conviction

Public prosecutor Juan Bidone said today he is confident to have enough proof to get the four accused of murdering entrepreneurs Sebastián Forza, Damián Ferrón and Leopoldo Bina back in 2008 in what was known as the «General Rodríguez triple murder.»

Speaking from the courthouse in Mercedes, Buenos Aires province – and under strong police protection – Bidone remarked he expects Martín Lanatta, Víctor Schillaci and Marcelo Schillaci to be found guilty of all charges and lamented the fact that the fifth accused, Ibar Pérez Corradi, is still a fugitive of the law.

“I wouldn’t accuse them if I weren’t sure they could get convicted”, Bidone said today as he entered the court.

Bidone, however, admitted the lack of direct witnesses: “I am missing what is usually missing in cases with this level of complexity: direct witnesses.”

The state attorney also alerted for the intimidation of the current witnesses.

“ A lot of those witnesses were victims of threats, calls and even kidnapped over the past days”, he explained.
