Argentine tennis’ Olympic rivals unveiled

Juan Martín Del Potro and David Nalbandian will face Croatian Iban Dodig and Serb Janko Tipsarevic, respectively, at the Olympic Games London 2012.

The leaders of the Argentine tennis team will then have to face different type of players, as Del Potro seems to be favourite over Dodig, but Nalbandian will face the risk against «top ten» Tipsarevic, who has defeated him in Miami and Wimbledon this year.
Meanwhile, last Hamburg champion Juan Mónaco will face Belgian David Goffin in the first round of the Games.
The last player of the team, Carlos Berlocq, will face Russian Alex Bogomolov.
Meanwhile, the double team headed by Nalbandian and Eduardo Schwank will meet French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Michael Llodrá in the first round, as the female doubles team, Gisela Dulko and Paola Suárez, will face China’s strong Shaui Zhang and Na Li.
London’s favourite will be top-seeded Swiss Roger Federer, followed by Serb Novak Djokovic and British Andy Murray. Beijing’s singles gold medallist, Spain’s Rafael Nadal will not be able to defend the title because he was forced to pull out through injury.
Women’s top seed Belarusian Victoria Azarenka will play Romanian world number 79 Irina-Camelia Begu in the first round, while America’s Serena Williams, fresh from her fifth Wimbledon title, takes on former world number one Jelena Jankovic of Serbia.
