Interior and Transport Minister Florencio Randazzo said today that the Government is to “invest $800 million pesos within the next year” in order to renew the Sarmiento trainline.
During a television interview this morning the minister stated: “Everything is going to be improved: The carriages, the workshops and the service.”
“It’s all part of an integral plan to better the frequency and quality of the service. The trains will be more comfortable and secure.
“There’s a lot of work to be done, that’s why we are going to invest a sum of $800 million pesos, over the course of a year,” Randazzo said during the interview.
In addition, Randazzo explained that, “the changes will not be simple and will not be able to be put through from one day to the next, however, it was a political decision by the State to go through with the plans,”
Furthermore the minister said that over the course of the next week, “the plans for works on the Mitre line” will be announced.
