Former Navy officer stabbed to death in Ituzaingó

Former frigate captain Vicente Manuel Federici.
A former navy officer was stabbed to death in his home of the Greater Buenos Aires area of Ituzaingó, as he resisted a robbery attempt. The victim was identified as Vicente Manuel Federici, aged 78.
Earlier, investigators were trying to determine if Federici’s death had been caused by homicide during a robbery attempt or by suicide, considering the cuts in his right wrist and neck.
Police sources said that the man’s body was found on Tuesday at 3 am in the two-story house located along Henri Dunant street. He was found by his daughter, who was returning from her holidays and immediately contacted the Police.
Police confirmed Federisi was dead and had two cuts in his right wrist and another in his neck, allegedly done with a kitchen knife.
Investigators were perplexed by the fact that the home’s two doors locked from the inside and with the keys in place and the fact that all the windows were locked as well. The victim’s bedroom had clothing items strewn and drawers in the floor, but the rest of the rooms were in order and valuable objects intact.
