After five hours of interrupting traffic on the Buenos Aires – La Plata highway, several social organizations that were protesting the late payment of social plan in the Buenos Aires government decided to lift the roadblock.
The protest was initially started a few minutes after 1 pm by the Quebracho organization, although some other political organizations later joined them in protest, including leftist groups such as MTL Aníbal Verón.
The protest was ended a few minutes after 6:30 pm.
Traffic authorities recommended drivers to avoid driving down the highway and set up a special procedure in order to reroute traffic after Quilmes.
Protesters said that the Scioli administration has not paid their social programmes, nor has it handed out any food packages.
