Buenos Aires province Governor Daniel Scioli urged his Environment Secretary, Eduardo Aparicio, to resolve the ongoing conflict at the CEAMSE landfill that has paralyzed all waste collection for the past three days, according to the governor’s spokesperson.
Previously, Buenos Aires City Environment Minister Diego Santilli, had indicated that the conflict hides “a political intention”, and added, “And it’s obvious that whoever is behind this, wants the conflict to extend in time.”
Likewise, Santilli remarked that the City government has already reported the several rubbish recycling cooperatives that are currently blocking the plant of CEAMSE garbage transport and stopping the trucks from the leaving the landfill.
“We need the Judiciary to solve this issue as soon as possible. We have reached a point in which the health of 14 million people is being put under risk.”
