Scioli appeals ruling ordering him to pay midyear bonus in one installment

Buenos Aires province Governor Daniel Scioli filed an appeal against the ruling ordering him to pay the midyear bonus of provincial state workers in one installment.

Last Friday, La Plata Judge Luis Arias ordered the Scioli administration to abide by Law 10,163 and pay the midyear bonus in one installment to the 550 thousand provincial state workers.

Buenos Aires province Cabinet Chief Alberto Pérez announced that Scioli would appeal the ruling through provincial prosecutor Ricardo Szelagowski, on grounds of Decree 558, which gives details on the four installment payment method and explains the reason behind the decision to do so.

Provincial state workers began several strikes to protest the measure. Teachers have warned they will not resume classes after the winter holidays if the midyear bonus is not paid in time.
