Ignacio Chavero was questioned by Prosecutor Rodolfo Robatto.
Ignacio Daniel Chavero, who was detained yesterday suspected of murdering brothers Marcelo and Leonardo Massa in Cañuelas town last Sunday, pleaded not guilty and called for an identity parade with those who accused him.
Prosecutor Rodolfo Robatto assured after questioning the suspect that he requested Judge Guillermo Atencio to turn the detention of Chavero in apprehension because there are proves that complicate his situation, as a photographic lineup ran by a witness who said he was present in the crime scene.
Robatto told the press that Chavero “said he has never been to Cañuelas,” and rejected being there last Sunday.
Investigation sources assured that 28-year-old Chavero, also known as “Luli,” is an ex-convict. He was arrested on Wednesday by La Plata officials.
Meanwhile, Fernando Marconi, the other suspect held in connection to the double homicide, told the prosecutor that he was not at the crime scene when the Massa brothers where murdered.
The double-murder of the Massa brothers, who owned the “Doña Rosa” supermarket, was committed on Sunday afternoon when two men broke into the store and one of them killed both of them in cold-blood and in front of the customers. The two men escaped without stealing anything.
